DISTRIBUTED INTELLIGENCE
Traditional wireless architectures consist of thin APs connected to a central controller. The controller resides in the back end of the network and performs control, security and management functions for multiple (often hundreds) of APs. The three biggest issues with this approach are traffic congestion, single point of failure, and unencrypted data from the AP to the controller. Our approach integrates the controller function into the wireless array to distribute the intelligence, much like wired edge switches. By distributing the network, you gain better performance and encryption all the way out to the edge. What’s more, our approach simplifies the deployment, making it more flexible and cost effective.

XR Series Arrays and Access Points:
The Xirrus XR-500 is a new class of low-cost, zero-touch Wi-Fi AP that supports up to 240 users with up to 600Mbps of bandwidth.
The Xirrus XR-1000 Series Wireless Array is a 2 slot chassis available in a 2 multi-state (2.4GHz or 5GHz) radio configuration supporting up to 480 users with up to 900Mbps of bandwidth.
The Xirrus XR-1000H Series Wireless Array is a 2 slot hardened (protected from rain, heat, cold, direct sun, and wind) chassis available in a 2 multi-state (2.4GHz or 5GHz) radio configuration supporting up to 480 users with up to 900Mbps of bandwidth.
The Xirrus XR-2000 Series Wireless Array is a four slot chassis available in a 4 multi-state (2.4GHz or 5GHz) radio configuration supporting up to 960 users with up to 1.8Gbps of bandwidth.
The Xirrus XR-4000 Series Wireless Array is an eight slot chassis available in either 4 or 8 multi-state (2.4GHz or 5GHz) radio configurations supporting up to 1920 users with up to 3.6Gbps of bandwidth.
The Xirrus XR-6000 Series Wireless Array is a sixteen slot chassis available in 8, 12 or 16 multi-state (2.4GHz or 5GHz) radio configurations supporting up to 1792 users with up to 7.2Gbps of bandwidth.
